Changing Major (Anything Blog)

Going into college I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my major. I knew I wanted to do something with sports because of my love for sports, especially baseball and basketball. I knew that I wouldn’t be happy with any job that it didn’t have anything to do with sports because it is my life and who I am. I chose sports management to be an Athletic Director so I can be involved in all sports. As I had a couple classes I learned that you’re going to have to have an education major or minor to be a high school AD. I then looked into it and found out that here at Defiance College you can’t have a minor really in education that I am god at. So I took a step back and decided my best subject in high school was math. So then I changed my major to Integrated Mathematics so I can be a high school math teacher and be a coach for a baseball or basketball team there at the school I teach at. I know that there is a high need for male math teachers and that if you are a teacher you are more probable to get a coaching job at the school. So changing my major was a big leap in setting what I want to do in my life after college and I am thinking I will not look back from this.
